Capturing the majestic character of the black swan (Cygnus atratus) this is a beautiful print by artist Gooitzen van der Meer. The black swan stands at about 130 centimetres with a wingspan of almost two metres and is found in the Perth and south-west regions. Swans are know to live for up to about 40 years and feed primarily on aquatic plants but inland they forage on grain grasses and crop foods. This elegant bird has the honour of being the state emblem of Westen Australia.
